SUMMARY:Youth Mental Health First Aid
DESCRIPTION:FREE: Youth Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour class is designed to help parents\, teachers\, coaches\, grandparents\, and anyone who is around youth to recognize warning signs of alcohol/substance abuse\, depression\, suicide risk\, and how to get help. There is a lunch and learn option for NARCAN training\, each participant will leave with a NARCAN kit for emergency use. \nSnacks\, drinks\, and lunch will be provided by DMIW. \n*$150 stipend for Gwinnett/Buford school system employees to attend paid by GUIDE\, Inc. \nRegister for Class Here \nSpace is limited to 18 participants per class\, registration will close once full and/or 5 days prior to the date of the class.

DESCRIPTION:Weekly “Emotions Anonymous” meetings on Wednesday evenings. EA consists of emotional support for anger\, depression\, grief\, anxiety\, and other emotional struggles. EA was founded in 1971\, involves group meetings\, and applies a 12-step approach adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous to help with emotional challenges. EA is based on 12 Steps\, 12 traditions\, 12 concepts\, and 12 promises.\n\n\nThis group will be led by an experienced facilitator from the area whose group had been traveling 45 minutes to the closest meeting place. We are happy that DMIW can offer a space for our community to meet.
